Over 500 Ranker voters have come together to rank this list of Musicians with the Best Onstage Banter

A concert isn't all about the music. Some of the best moments at any live show are what happens in between the songs - the musician's onstage banter, both with the audience and other band members. This is the time where musicians with good personalities can shine the most and part of why many bands are so good live.

Some musicians could definitely have had careers as stand up comedians. Robyn Hitchcok's surreal stories are a show in among themselves. John Fogerty takes any chance he gets to take shots at Jerry Garcia. Jeff Tweedy's dry one-liners would make Stephen Wright proud. Diehard fans know that there are two different Ryan Adams one might see in concert. There's Good Mood Ryan Adams and Bad Mood Ryan Adams, but both are a true delight.

Musicians who talk between songs may be hated by some. But for the most members of the audience who are drenched with sweat, pressed up against strangers, or are getting thrown unwittingly into a mosh pit, a few moments of comic relief can be quite refreshing.

Which musicians have the best between song jokes, stories, and tales to tell? Who fills the time while tuning his or her guitar the best? Upvote the best live musicians who have good banter onstage and add anyone who entertained you between songs when you saw them in concert.
